Bridge Holidays
How about taking your Bridge Club to stay in Sir Robert Peel’s old home, or visiting the estate that William the Conqueror gave to his nephew in 1066?
Brook Hotels offer a great choice of bridge packages to enjoy this favourite card game with friends, old and new. Brook have put together a series of social bridge weekends which are licensed by the English Bridge Union and run by experienced international tournament directors and life masters of the game. With their welcoming lounges and first class restaurants our hotels are the perfect place to take your group away for a few nights.
Your weekend bridge package includes:
Welcome drink prior to dinner (Wine or Sherry), followed by dinner (3 choice plus Vegetarian) and accommodation on the Friday, Saturday, and full English breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Buffet lunch on Saturday and Full traditional Sunday Lunch. Morning coffee and afternoon tea on Saturday and Sunday, with the optional extra of a bridge director
Exclusive use of a conference room for the period of your stay, with use of an overhead projector, tables approx. 2.5ft square together with relevant number of chairs. Plus iced water available throughout the sessions
Certain things are common to all bridge holidays. The main priority is to enjoy yourself, so the atmosphere will be competitive but friendly. But you come to learn as well as to play, so every day there will be a competition of some kind, some tuition on one of the theme subjects of the holiday, together with a discussion of a few of the previous day's more problematic hands. And often there’ll be the chance to play prepared hands on subject of the tutorial.
Non-playing partners are welcome, and for them there is a reduction of £30 on the price.
Finally it would be a pity to be in such a beautiful location without the chance to see some of the local sights, so late morning and early afternoon are always left free of bridge.
