Crabwall Manor Hotel Near Chester
Reviews
'Exceptional value, very good'
"Just returned from a 3 night stay at Crabwall manor. Did not know quite what to
expect after reading some of the reviews, but it was very good indeed. We stayed
in a suite for the first 2 days - we stayed in a suite which was very nice and then
we swapped to a standard room. The suite had a very nice bathroom and a nice lounge,
the rooms were nice and clean. The standard room we stayed in was without doubt
the largest bedroom I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. It was massive,
so was the bath tub, it had twin sinks and a separate shower.
We stayed on a dinner bed & breakfast rate and the evening meal was nothing
short of exceptional. A nice varied menu to choose from and the service from the
staff was exceptional. The food served by the hotel was some of the best I have
encountered, perfectly cooked every time. I would definitely recommend this hotel
for anyone looking for a nice venue with top class service." 5th July 2009
'Our Wedding at Crabwall'
"We booked our Wedding at Crabwall two years ago at a time when some of the reviews
and our experiences were not everything that they could be, however we had fallen
in love with the building, which is even more beautiful than it appears in the pictures.
Fortunately, in the last few months, a number of staff and management changes have
occured, together with a dramatic maintainance schedule which gave my Wife and I,
together with our guests to have the most perfect wedding day.
Staff proved themselves willing to bend over backwards to help us in any way possible,
and put themselves completely at our disposal. They also allowed a tremendous amount
of flexibility with regard to rooms and guests checking in and out. If you are looking
for the perfect all round wedding venue, Crabwall manor is it." 21 Jun 2009
'Relaxing break at Crabwell Manor'
"We had a four night break at Crabwell which we thoroughly enjoyed. I was a little
apprehensive after reading a few reviews and although I agree with some of the negative
comments overall Crabwell is a good place to stay in Chester, being near to all
tourist attractions. Our room was of a very good size having the usual room facilities
but as mentioned by other people it would be even better after a refurbishment.
The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent and served by very attentive staff.
There was a very good choice at both meals.
The leisure facilities were fantastic and we made very good use of the pool, Jacuzzi,
steam room and sauna - the staff there also being helpful. The gym looked very well
equipped although we didn't use the facilities in there. The hotel itself is a beautiful
building with much character, having many small areas to sit in and relax. The grounds
are very well kept with small walks around. We will have no hesitation in returning
in the future." 13 Jun 2009
'Nice Hotel'
"Stayed at this hotel in March for our wedding anniversary. Room, bed and breakfast
for us both was quite a bargain at around £120. Lovely grounds, fantastic
spa. The interior of the hotel could do with a bit of a re-vamp. It was a bit 'Fawlty
Towers' like! The bedroom was very spacious, as our bathroom. The food was absolutely
delicious. The staff, in particular the staff in the dining room on the evening
we ate there, were friendly and helpful. Overall, really enjoyed it here and will
be definately going back again." 6 Jun 2009
'Charming'
"Stayed at this hotel one night for the purpose of exploring Chester. Loved the
roaring fire and many sitting rooms with comfy sofas. The room was lovely and spacious
with a massive bathroom. Although we didn't use the spa and pool we were very impressed
with them. The hotel is somewhat faded but we found this added to the overall charm
of the place, breakfast was a buffet of cereal, fruit, croissants, toast, jam, fruit
juice followed by a full English which we fully enjoyed. I would recommend this
hotel to my family and friends and hope to go again in the near future and take
advantage of the spa/pool/gym." 21 May 2009
"I am writing to you to say the BIGGEST thank you imaginable to you, to Rose and
Christine and to ALL staff at Crabwall Manor Hotel for the most splendid stay we
have ever had at the hotel (and as you know we have been coming to you for Spirit
of Christmas for some years now.)
Knowing that the hotel had recently changed hands, and that you had lost a couple
of staff who were very familiar with our needs, did give us some pause for thought.
I began to relax when I came to visit before the event and sat with Rose and Christine
who could not have been more helpful and reassuring. On the day as we introduced
chaos to your ordered lives, you all took in your strides and everything happened
just as smoothly as Rose had predicted it would. For the first time ever, registration
was easy and stress free helped along by teas and coffees, log fires and warm welcomes.
Luggage melted away and was placed in all the right rooms, and despite the hotel
having been full the night before, reception and housekeeping managed to get many
of our guests into their rooms shortly after their arrival. How wonderful was that!
Later the tea was, as ever, delicious and plentiful, the private rooms a delight,
the bedrooms were as always comfortable and spotlessly clean and in many cases decidedly
sumptuous. And after the event as everyone piled back to Crabwall gagging for both
food and liquid refreshment they were met with a splendiferous feast which rounded
the whole day off superbly for all our performers. The added benefit of the private
room for breakfast the next morning was fantastic and meant a great deal to our
guests. Paul. you worked your socks off that day to make sure everything went well
and put in long hours, as did many of your staff – I really really want to congratulate
and thank you all for totally coming up trumps on our behalf. Every single one of
the celebs are determined to come back again to Chester to appear at another Spirit
of Christmas and a large part of the attraction of the event is the time spent at
Crabwall Manor. Many of them said that the whole gig was like a weekend break away.
I cannot commend the hotel, management and every single staff member highly enough
– for my money you are all tops!"
"We would like to thank you so much for the care and consideration to us and our
guests on Sept 29 th. Our Diamond wedding lunch was excellent as was the service."
"On behalf of Matthew, Sarah and us all at the Neuromuscular Centre a huge thank
you for looking after our guests so well on Friday night. We've had lots of positive
feedback from all concerned. Please pass on our thanks to all the team at Crabwall
who ensured things ran smoothly and allowed Sarah and Matthew to relax so much!
We look forward to joining you again next year!"
"I am writing to thank you both yourself and all your staff for your help both last
night and in the run-up to our Christmas party. Everything ran smoothly and a good
time was had by all here at UKDA!"
