'Pleasant enough...' "I stay at this hotel regularly throughout the year as it is close to the company's HQ. Overall the hotel is pleasant. The main lobby area is quite small, but has never been overly busy when I have been there. Reception staff have always been attentive and I haven't had any problems checking in or out. They have free Wi-Fi in the hotel but you must ask for an access code from reception to use it. The rooms are a decent size, with nice large beds which are very comfy. The bathrooms are pretty standard for the type of hotel, but water pressure through the shower has varied at times from very powerful to barely a dribble! The bedroom and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. One thing to note is that the temperature in the room is something I can never seem to get right. The radiators are never on when you arrive at the hotel, but after having them cranked on for a while the room doesn't seem to cool down again. The restaurant and bar areas aren't bad. Drinks are priced around £3 for a pint of lager. The food has been revamped recently as is much better than I remember. They do have a wide range of various dishes to choose from. One let down is that the hotel always seems to be very quiet, so there is little or no atmosphere in the bar/restaurant. Fine if you want that, but I like a little bit of background noise going on." 31 Mar 2009
'Good business hotel' "Stayed here for one night and attended a conference at this hotel. I found the bedroom to be very pleasant, a large, well lit room with a king size bed, kettle, television, iron and ironing board. The room was well maintained, very clean, the furniture modern and attractive. The en-suite was bright, very clean and modern. No problems with hot water etc. The public areas of the hotel were good, and the staff were excellent - very friendly and very efficient and helpful service. We ate both lunch and dinner, the food was nothing special but was entirely acceptable and pleasant. The bar facilities are very good, a small quiet bar area situated at one end of the hotel and hence reasonably quiet. All in all, recommended. We especially enjoyed the lift button set into the wall near reception but apparently no sign of a lift to accompany it." 5 Dec 2008

'Perfect for a business trip' "I stayed at this hotel whilst working at the NEC in Birmingham. The hotel is spotless (apart from the lift which could do with a lick of paint). My room and my colleague’s rooms were all comfortable, well presented and had pretty much all you need for a business trip. The staff were polite and friendly. The restaurant and bar area are also nice and modern and the food above average for a hotel of this category. The drive to the NEC was fine and we didn't encounter too much traffic in the morning. We all felt that this hotel was great value for money and would probably stay here again when working at the NEC." 20 Feb 2008
'Nice' "Stayed here over Christmas was worried a bit due to past reviews but the hotel has recently had a refurb and i think it has changed ownership. It's in a beautiful location, the hotel is small and quaint, really modern inside, bar area nice and service was great, was a bit expensive but you expect that in hotels. Bedroom was lush, was had a new room and was spacious with big bed and lovely views - very romantic location. Had breakfast which was good, not buffet though but advantage is everything is hot and you know it hasn't been sitting there for ages. We went out into Stratford and Warwick which are really local.
