'Successful reunion weekend' "I just wanted to say thank you very much for all your help in organising our very successful reunion weekend. I am sure we caused your staff quite a few logistical headaches (mostly sorting out of the billing probably!), but they rose admirably to the occasion. The meal was presented seamlessly, the food was lovely and two ladies who helped serve were delightful – and quite relieved that they didn't have to come and 'dig us out' of Nellie's beforehand! We also apologise to the staff who had to clear up, rather later than probably anticipated in the evening, after we enjoyed nostalgic dancing to 60's music into the early hours. My husband was particularly impressed with the prompt and very helpful response by the receptionist when we mentioned a problem with our room. All in all, I think, a very successful weekend.....many thanks yet again." October 2009
'Pleasant hotel in excellent location' "From arrival at the Reception, to leaving the next day after a lovely breakfast we were completely happy with the service and standard of accommodation. Had a quiet room at the back of the hotel (new part) where most of the rooms seem to be rather than in the Georgian part. Room very warm, we turned heating off. Beds, comfy with clean white bedding. The carpet in the room & throughout hotel looked new (obviously refurbished since earlier negative comment and photos). They provide a good choice of breakfasts. The vegetarian breakfast has been thought about, rather than as an afterthought - it was excellent. Breakfast in bed was an option. The bar seemed to be open all the time and there were a lot of cosy places to sit and relax in the Georgian building. Free parking available which was good in a town with meters everywhere."
