'St. George's Day Luncheon Success' May I take this opportunity to express on behalf of The Huddersfield Branch RAF Association and the members and guests who attended the St. GEORGE'S DAY LUNCHEON organised by yourselves last Friday on the resounding success of the function. The organisation from start to finish was faultless and should be recognised as such. Your involvement on the day resulted in ensuring that any final glitches were resolved before becoming an issue. The catering staff, both front of house and behind the scenes, must be complemented on the quality of the meal and the service. First class. I hope to approach you in the not too distant future to again organise for us a function celebrating Remembrance Day in November. I feel sure that you and your excellent staff will once again come up with ideal menus and prices. Please can you thank all the staff that worked that evening, the very helpful receptionist and especially the two young men that helped Lesley to the car with all her gifts, flowers and the cake. 'Tired Splendour' "We were given a deluxe double room it was very spacious and on the whole clean, friends were given a standard double which was quite small. Good points - splendid dining room, delicious breakfast, cooked to order when running out on buffet, clean and comfortable bed and room, linen and towels crisp and clean - very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely old building, despite decor being rather tired now. Bad points - bathroom bin had not been emptied before our arrival, bed was not made properly, had to make it ourselves before we could get in, missing bedside light bulb, far far too hot and couldn't open windows in bedroom, although we could in the bathroom, when this was mentioned it was met with the comment that most other guests had complained how cold it was! 'Great Stay' "First trip to Huddersfield and needed a city centre Hotel. The George was perfect. Really nice greeting and welcome by the reception team. The room was clean and comfortable. I had dinner in the restaurant. Only had a main course but this was excellent. Will be back." March 2009
